Just recently I completed my second spartan sprint race in Barry. It was so much fun. Even better to watch my super brave God Son Ethan only 11 years old also complete the kids 1 km obstacle race. I am so proud and pumped of how amazing it he did! way to go Ethan you Rock!
This just inspires me to push even harder to really get the message across that fitness really has to be a big priority in our children's lives.
This fall I am hoping to Launch CORE KIDS FITNESS in elementary schools across the GTA.
Lets make every moment count!

Think outside the BOX!
"It takes a whole village to raise a child" African proverb.
This is so true for parents and anyone trying to reach a goal. I would like to remind you that you do not have to do it alone. Lean on a friend, family member and use all the resources made available to you.
Every day is a new day!
Enjoy,
Sincerely,
Coach Shanon

Time Spent
Core Kids Fitness for those of you who do not know, began as an opportunity for myself to play a key role in ensuring my son was able to benefit from a structured physical fitness program from the time he was 2 years old.
Personally having grown up in a time where you could just go outside to play without much supervision if any at all know now this is not the case for our young children of today.
Now more than ever fitness programs are not just for adults. While as adults we are always doing what we can to stay active & healthy and now taking stock in how our children are too!
When fitness professionals talk about "making fitness & nutrition a lifestyle choice" it really is true just remember it truly only sticks if the entire family is on board.
I encourage all parents to begin with one week of tracking your family's fitness time versus screen time!
"Screen Time" includes computer work or play, video games and TV or movies.
The goal is that our children do not spend more than 2 maximum hours per day. To compare also track your time spent on fitness or active play including going for a walk, exercise, gym (if any at school), structured fitness / sports programs you may be in per week.
It is always best to know where your starting point is before setting some realalistic goals for your entire family!
Be well,
Coach Shanon
